Weymouth & Melcombe Regis |

The seaside town of Weymouth lies in the
south west of the county of Dorset, with the county town of Dorchester 6
miles to the north. The best introduction to the town of Weymouth and
Melcombe Regis I have found is from a Ward Lock illustrated guide book
from 1935 and as I couldn't explain it any better myself I will quote
