Purbeck Militia List
1798

Transcribed for the OPC Project by Kim Parker

Please note that where names are lined through, they are difficult to read. The numbers in the margin were probably ballot numbers. Lots were drawn to determine which men would serve in the Militia. Those whose number was drawn could pay for a substitute to serve in their stead. The going rate was a little more than £2.
