' In order to boost the sale of wool, the First Act of Parliament was passed in 1666, ordering that all the dead be buried in wool
and in woollen lined coffins. An affidavit that this had been done was entered with each burial register, but not all complied
and they were fined' It wasn't popular with some and those who had enough money would be buried in their finery and
pay the five pounds fine. The Act of Parliament was renewed in 1678, and then again in 1684.
