MARRIAGES 1580 to 1812

Transcribed and donated to the Dorset OPC by Kim Parker from the Parish Registers and Bishops Transcripts

The Turnerspuddle Registers are very patchy, significant chunks having been lost. Gaps exist.
 

Ecclesiatically, Turnerspuddle was in the jurisdiction of the Dean of Sarum rather than the Archdeaconry of Dorset. This is a boon for genealogists, since the BTs of this Parish were not deposited at Blandford Forum where the Archdeaconry of Dorset stored its BTs and which were destroyed in the great fire that swept through that town in 1731.
 

Arranged according to the Gregorian Calendar, with the Julian year indicated to the left of the forward slash (/) in those years when the Julian Calendar, which ran from March 25th to March 24th, was in use (i.e. prior to 1752, 1751 being the transition year).
