In ye name of God Amen, I Thomas CARTER of the parish of Hasselbury Brian and County of Dorset, being weake in body though of good --, minde and memory, for make this my Last Will and Testament, the first day of January in ye yeare of our Lord, one thousand five hundred and sixty eight.
Impremis. I firstly resign my soul to God that gave it -- -- he shall please to call me, hoping for merry -- -- -- of my Lord Saviour Jesus Christ and my body -- decent Christian buriall in ye Churchyard of Hasselbury Brian, expecting a joyfull resurrection to eternal life at the last day.
Item. I doe give and bequeath to my three sons, William, George and Samuel, five shillings a piece and to my two daughters, Edith and Agnes, the like sum of five shillings a piece.
Item. I give and bequeath all other my goods and chattells, within and without, unto my sonne Thomas whom I doe hereby -- the whole and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament.
Lastly, I doe desire and appoint my well beloved friend in Thomas ARNOLD of Hasselbury aforesaid and my brother Richard? CARTER of Cranbourne in ye County aforesaid, to be Overseers of this my Last Will and Testament and do give each of them ---
